    There Was An Angel

Have you ever felt like you were being watched? No not like in a bad way. More like a loving way. Something protecting you from harm. I do sometimes. Or maybe you met someone that changed your life, but then suddenly disappeared when things were going well. That happens too. Well not for me, but it happens. When I write poems I look for things that people can understand or I can make them understand. Most of the time I write about sad things. So this poem was a stretch for me to write. Originally written as "Is there an Angel?" I thought some of the lines could have been improved. So, I rewrote it and it became the current form you see it in now.

This came about while watching the TV show, Touched by an Angel. But every time I watched I always felt like the angel should have never told them who she was. I always thought that the point of getting an angel to help you was to make you figure out for yourself what to do. They were just there to guide you. So I wrote this in that form, someone telling their story and wishing they could thank her for what was done for him, but not realizing that they had helped themselves. Well, enough talk, here it is.

    There was an Angel

    There was an angel
    watching over me
    And she was as beautiful
    as anyone I've ever seen
She flew me over the abyss
when my troubles got too large
She helped me see through it all
    when things got too dark
    Always gave me shelter
when hurt was thrown my way
    Comforting me with the words
that only an angel could say
    The mender of my soul
for where all the torments had torn
    Touching my heart
    making me feel reborn
But I never got to thank her
    for everything she had done
I wish I could have told her
before she had to go on
So if anyone ever sees her
    deliver this message for me
Thank you for all the love you gave
    thank you for saving me.

    Angel In My Bedroom

I am DancingWillow, Some of you may know me as Chaos or Cmama. I am very excited that Sarah has provided this space for us. It is going to be great!!!

When I was around four years old I was visited by an angel. This angel called my name three times and disappeared after I saw him/her. The Angel filled my bedroom doorway. Since then this angel or one of its buddies has always been with me. I have been saved many times by its intervention. I know my angel will always be there for me. From time to time I write to my angel in my angel journal. I have named my angel "Rachel" after my grandmother who passed over 11 years ago. Since I did not know who the angel was I decided to name her. Some have said that my angel is Gabriel ... I do not know about that.

I am very eclectic in my beliefs. Basically I believe in the love of the divine for all. I am slowly discarding my very Christian background ... especially since I was told that believing in angels is the work of the devil ... that to me who has intimate knowledge of her angel(s) was the last straw. Angels are divine.

Well, hey, I also believe in Fairies. Yeah, well all right; santy Claus and the Easter bunny too. hehehe OOPs almost forgot that tooth fairy. A retreat for fairies is in the works for my garden.

    Bright Blessings

    Angel Poem

Since last year my fascination with Angels has grown so much. I want to share a poem with all of you...I wrote this last December for someone I cared for very deeply. In March of this year I submitted it for consideration in a poetry contest. I am one of the finalists and because I am, it will be published this fall. I am so happy and proud. I think finally the Angels are shining down on me and my family. So here it is...I hope you all like it.

    Blessings,
    Debbie

    Angel

Angel of hope, Angel of love,
I come to you from the
    heavens above.

    Angel of sweetness,
    Angel of light,
    will be with you
    day and night.

    Angel of happiness,
    Angel of my heart.
    Yours forever and
    never apart.

    Your Angel caresses...
    Your Angel kisses...
    Your Angel wants...
    Your Angel wishes.

    Your Angel loves you...
    Your Angel is here...
    Your Angel is always near.

    My Dog

In 1984, my very precious dog Konan died of a cerebral hemorrhage. He was nearly 12. He 'went down' in my house and I called my husband to come home immediately because Konan was dying. We took Konan to the vet in our truck ... my husband rode in the back with him because he was afraid that in Konan's damaged brain, he might hurt me. When we arrived at the vet, I went in ... it took forever ... and my husband asked that I stay with Konan and he went in. Immediately my dog calmed down. He knew me. When we took him in for the euthanasia, I was asked to leave ... and refused. I stayed with my dog as the breath of life left his body. I was devastated. :(

One week later, I had a dream in the middle of the afternoon. I was on a porch and this beautiful black dog (Konan was a black Lab), came up and I knew it was Konan come back to tell me good-bye. I put my arms around his neck and could feel his fur. When I awoke, I was crying. My dog had found a way back to be with me one more time. :)

That is my story ... breathe the starlight and be at peace.

    Blessings,

    Driving Towards...

Well, it is pretty blurry now, but I can't forget it. My mother, brother, my friend, and I were going to Jones Beach, NY for a concert. I dropped off my family and went driving about Long Island on an elusive search for some women. That didn't turn out to be anything good. So eventually, we picked up my brother and mother from the concert area and proceeded back on the Belt Parkway to our home in Staten Island, NY.

So, I'm driving and driving and find myself getting very groggy behind the wheel. I also find myself doing 75 m.p.h. in a 50 m.p.h zone. I'm in the left lane, speeding away, and I start to nod off to sleep! As soon as I know it, I hear a woman's voice. It sounded like my mother and I had a fuzzy picture of my mother. But only, she looked like the Virgin Mary. She was waking me up, I think she was yelling at me, but in a comforting way? So the next thing I know, I wake up, and I see myself on a course headed straight for a concrete barrier! I quickly evade it and pull over to the shoulder, and request my mother to drive, as I might get people killed.

As we are out of the car, she gives me a warm, comforting hug, with tears in her eyes, whispering, "Thank You." You are truly a man today (I'm only 18). So, the rest of the ride home I felt really good about myself, and kept thinking about that experience. It will definitely be one of the most hard-to-forget experiences of my life!

    Heaven Send

    Angelic Light surrounding us,
    Wherever we may go,
They have so much to tell and thus -
    Sounds like whistles blow.

    Soft and gently, touching calm,
    Singing, whispering, what a charm,
    Dancing, laughing, flying free,
    many times just comforting me.

    Being blessed with Angel's Light,
    Glowing brilliant, shining bright,
    Peace, and Love, and Harmony,
That's what Angel's gift for thee.

    Angel Letters

Becoming human just one more time,
Helping mankind by use of the rhyme,
Leading their way into the light,
    Shining and glowing angelically bright.

Learning the lessons along the road,
Sometimes not even having a coat,
Facing the days if in pain or in prime,
Deciding to do it - just one more time.

For aeons and earthling I almost forgot,
The origin of soul, the home that is not,
Remembered at all when caught in the drama
Of life and the resurrection of karma.

With age comes wisdom, someone once said,
Blooming enlightened and I am glad,
That in the summer of this one I finally know,
How to use my wings, and fly, and grow.

I am an Angel and one of a kind,
expanding in beauty, in spirit, in mind,
Exploring the cosmos and dancing the moon,
Just one more time - going home soon.

Yet reason and purpose have to be filled,
Released all the garbage, let go of the guilt!
Realization of Self and knowing what's real,
Evolution of Earth and Mankind - I feel!

Connecting the realms of above and below,
By creating the channel for light to flow,
In me and through me and into the earth,
The higher vibrations we all birth!

During this life I have studied a lot,
One more time turned my attention to God,
Being rewarded and blessed with gifts,
That can heal and assist during the shifts!

And I offer my service one more time,
For mankind and the cosmos to align,
For all of us to live in the flow,
For the Angel awareness in us to grow.

Whenever you feel the need for assistance,
I will send you a letter with love and persistence,
A letter that leads you back onto your path,
An Angel Letter - when you so ask!

    A Story Of Angels

In my life I have been a most fortunate soul and have had many an angel guide me, protect me and show me things I needed to see whether I liked it or not! In 1986, I was a U.S Marine. I had been doing Helo repelling, {sliding down a rope from Helicopters}, when the helo jerked forward, my safety line wasn't hooked up and I fell forward.

Luckily the Helo was only 75 feet up. Falling at 30 feet is like driving a car 30 mph, and hitting a wall. I fell 75 feet to the ground, during that fall. Not only was I thinking about death, but how very light I felt, like floating. I also have experienced parachuting, and it was nothing like that.

Anyway, on this fall that seemed to take forever, I became aware of a guardian, a protector, guiding my fall. When I hit the ground I bounced, but other than the shock of it all, I didn't bruise or break a single bone. When I got up on my feet I looked around, and saw just how lucky I had become. There were jagged rocks all around me except where I landed.

The gear I had strapped to me had somehow come loose, which is remarkable in itself considering it's hooked on, so it wouldn't have. If it had remained hooked it would have speared me, and most definitely taken my life. I had also the grace to not fall directly where the others were dropping the gear out of the Helo, this gear weighed in excesses of 500lbs. This, too, could have taken my life had I not been placed where I was placed.

All these things could be marked up to very rare luck or coincidence, or whatever, however this I believe was not luck or synchronicity, or whatever people call it, this was an act of a guardian, an angel, a protector. On the fall, I was made aware of this entity, of its help, and with the knowledge that this is what happened.

I know all this to be true because I have had many encounters with the Reaper, and on every single one of them this Guardian has appeared, helped and saved my life.

Anyway ... that's one of my experiences with angels ... I hope sharing it with you all helps.

    Blessed Be,

    Genius Loci

I think I ran into my angel several times over the years. Some friends and I were stranded (during early summer in the desert) on our way to Las Vegas when our car broke down. We tried to fiddle with whatever was under the hood, but it didn't help. Then I asked my friend to join me in the traditional angel prayer...it was worth a shot. A few seconds later a blond man in a red pick up truck drove up beside us (didn't even see it on t he road) and tried to help us out. He said the nearest town (Needles, CA) was about 2 hours away, and that he could take one of us with him. Without hesitation from myself or my friends, I went along with him. Mind you, I NEVER, EVER take rides from strange men.

We spoke a little bit about his son, where he was from (New Mexico), etc ...then slept comfortably until we arrived. I arranged for a tow truck to go back for my friends and was planning to accompany the driver. The man told me to stay in the town. I walked over to the store across the way to wait while the owner pampered me by offering me food, drink and even a movie to watch. I kept looking for the man with the red truck, but I never saw him again ... and Needles is not exactly packed.

My friends arrived and were so worried that they had let their best friend drive off with a psycho-killer. And looking back on it, I wondered what on earth possessed me to go with a complete stranger. I truly believe that this person was probably my angel in disguise ... or maybe very good luck?
