Hello! This is the page where I get to talk about what really peeves me off about things. I promise it's not going to be an "I hate this religion" page or anything of the sort.
No, it's going to be about different things that irritate me about people's views on Angels. Now, everyone has their viewpoint and each is entitled to their opinion, but there are some things
in today's society that make me burn inside. This page is not meant to offend anyone, just to make us think a little bit before "proclaiming" to the world that one way is the only way there is to get to God.
On Religion:
Angels Are for ALL religions. I am so tired of hearing people tell me that I can't believe in Angels or have an Angel experience because I'm not a Christian. Who says?? Angels were here alot longer than any religion ever was. I don't care how many religions there are, each one of them was made by man. Jesus never actually set up a church while He was alive. He only taught love and acceptance. He had Angels with him then, before there was religion. Moses, Adam and Eve, Noah, Mary, etc, all had angelic visitations and Christ wasn't even born yet! Oh yes, Jesus was a Jew, not Christian. So why did Angels visit him? I'd like to know the reasoning behind the theory that you have to be Christian to have angels in your life. Something's really wrong with this picture.
On my AngelWicca page, there is the full history of Angels and how they came into being. Check it out and realize that even the Greeks and the Egyptians has winged beings. Were they Angels? Most likely. How are we to know? It's all in your belief. In the Bible only 3 are mentioned. Does that mean there are only 3 Angels? Nope. Sometimes we aren't supposed to know everything from one source. That's why there are books such as the Koran and the Caballah. One religion's mystical works doesn't have all the answers, in fact, none of them have it "all". That's why it's up to us to seek and find our answers for ourselves. What may be good for me might not be good for you, and that's ok because I'm the only one who matters. I have to lead my own life and I have to make my own choices. If it doesn't follow your way, it doesn't make me wrong, it just makes me a different person than you and I'm following my heart. In the end, it's what's in your heart that counts anyway, not what religion you are.
St. Thomas Aquinas said "Angels transcend every religion, every philosophy, every creed. In fact angels have no religion as we know it----their existence precedes every religious system that has ever existed on earth." Very wise and very true. Too bad all the faiths of the world can't see this. It's too bad we have to condemn each other for having a different view on God and Angels. Too bad indeed.
On The Sex Of Angels:
Angels are adrogynous beings. They come to us in a form that we can accept the most. They don't want to frighten us. When I see Angels, they come as men. I think that is because I see men as protectors and the strong ones when I need a "big brother" or a shoulder to cry on. Women for me have never had that emotional feeling for me. I grew up not knowing what it was like to have a brother, being the oldest child with only a sister. I longed for that comforting "older brother" presence to protect me.
Some people view Angels as women. Many have told me it's because to them, they see their Angels as a "mother" figure, there to hold them and soothe them when they need love and comfort. Some see their Angel as a relative or a friend who passed on. It doesn't really matter how we see them, as long as we do. Don't tell me there is proof that Angels are men or Angels are women, cause they are a blend of both. Adrogynous beings of both male and female energy, coming to you in a form that will bring you the most comfort and joy when you need it. I wish I saw more pictures of male Angels on the net today. If I could draw, I'd make a ton of them. I see mostly female images and that's ok, but it would be nice to see more artist renditions of Angels in both forms.
On Praying To Angels:
Ok, this one gets to me alot. I have an Angel site. Yep, I do. I do NOT worship Angels. Just because I have a site dedicated to them, with prayers that you can say to them, does NOT mean I worship the Angels. Please, please, don't e-mail me with the accusations. Hey, I'm human, and I say "Help" to my Angels all the time. Everyone does. Think about it. When was the last time you asked your Angel for help? Probably every time you pray, somewhere inside you're also asking for any help that can be given. Am I right? Thought so. Now, someone tell me why we aren't supposed to pray to Angels. I've heard that alot from the Catholic religion. I really don't understand. Ok, God says pray to Him. His Angels are servants of Him/Her. Wouldn't it make sense to pray to the Angel of Prayer? Wouldn't it make sense to pray to an Angelic being that's going to take that prayer to God? Ok, so God doesn't need help with that, you say. Do we know that? God is omnipresent. Ok. Understood. So what's the purpose for Angels? If He/She can do it all alone, why were Angels created? Hmmmm, pondering.....
I don't understand something as well, and maybe one of you can tell me the answer. Why is it that the Catholic church turns the Angels into Saints? They say it's not ok to pray to the Angels, so they make them a Saint and then they pray to them...weird. I just don't understand.
On The Name "Angel":
I see in my guestbook an entry that one man's particular Angel comes topless. Well, hmmm, Ok. Wish I could figure out why the word "Angel" is almost always associated with images of women, scantily clad or nude. Real Angels don't run around the world naked. I'm sorry, but would that make you feel comfortable to have an angel experience with a naked Angel? Maybe in some dreams of a lady who is an "Angel" to you that you love, etc, and you want to be with in that way, but Angels arent going to come in a "pornographic" way. I hate that movies are called "Date With An Angel" and they turn it into some low-class movie about sleeping with an Angel. I did like "City Of Angels" though. It was a good lesson about love, among other things. That movie has some real Angel messages in it, if you look in your heart deep enough, you'll hear the message. If I could say one thing to the men of this world, I'd tell them to quit saying "Angel" with a perverted gleam in their eye. My boss at work heard I have an "Angel site" and he grinned and said "Damn, I wish I could find an Angel to take me to Heaven." then giggled with the man standing with him and they started talking about what they would "do" to their Angels. How sad that we've taken something Holy and perverted it.
On Angels Incarnate:
I can't tell you how many times I get e-mails from people telling me they are the "Archangel Michael" incarnate. They say they have been born into an earthly body and are now here to "cleanse" the earth.
People, Angels are not born into bodies. Angels are spiritual beings of the God/Goddess. They can come in any form that we can accept so as to not frighten us, but they are not born as human beings. Yes, I believe that those who have died can become
Guardian Angels, for instance a GrandMother or Mother becoming a Guardian to you, but I'm sorry, the Archangels just aren't living and breathing as human beings. How can they possibly do this and also do God's work? It's impossible.
I knew a man once who told me that he was the Archangel Michael and that his wife was the Archangel Gabriel. Yeah. Ok. Whatever. I guess we can all believe what we want, but honestly, how many Archangel Michael's are alive right now? So far I've met 6. Interesting.
On Religious Leaders:
I believe there are many men and women of faith who are called by God. I don't believe there was only one Messiah. Yes, Jesus was a great man. I love his teachings. Love, honor, respect, the way he loved his mother and those women he knew, well, he earned my respect a long time ago. How many men today would say, "He who is without sin, let him cast the first stone."? Not many I know of. It's condemn, condemn, condemn. If you're a female and you've sinned, like the harlot did, well you better just roll over and forget it cause the men will tell you that you are a slut or one of those other offensive words that I hate. But if a man were to sin in that manner, well hey, they are a stud and "Way to go dude!" Not fair.
Jesus was a great man, tolerant and loving and forgiving. A man of faith and God. I will like to meet this spiritual leader one day and learn of his teachings, how they were originally written, not how the publishers reworked the books so it looked better on paper.
Buddah was also a man of God. He was very spiritual in nature and spent his life finding the inner peace and coming closer to the Creator he believed in. He didn't accuse or condemn, he just followed his own path. When people he loved left him because it was not their path, he didn't give up his search, he went on alone. He found his peace and his inner sanctuary. Too bad we can't all find that today.
Pope John Paul is a neat man. I think he's a cute old guy, but that's beside the point *S*. He seems to be a peaceful man of God. I've not heard too many terrible things about this particular Pope, (well except for the homosexuality issue, but I won't go there), unlike Pope Innocent the 8th, who said that pagan women were evil and had no souls. Nope, don't like that Pope at all. But is the current Pope a man of God? Yep, I think so, and I'm not Catholic.
There are many other men and women of God walking around today. I don't necessarily believe that they are God's only called prophet, but I do believe that each faith needs to have a leader of some sort. It helps the people have someone to turn to as a guide. On a side note, no I'm not Catholic, or Christian, or Buddist, or any "set" faith, but I do know that all religions have their leaders, called by God/Goddess. I don't have to believe in them, but I can believe in them as spiritual leaders. I may not think that Jesus was the son of God, but I may. That's my choice. Does it really matter if I beleive that statement? No. What matters is that I believe.
For me, I don't have a single spiritual leader. I have many, my husband for one. He guides my path and my heart, more than he realizes. I turn to him for everything I do. Why? No, he isn't a dictator and he doesn't tell me what to do. I turn to him because he gives me the freedom to choose my path in my spiritual journey. I can be AngelWiccan and he can follow Hecate and still we are as close as ever. No religion divides our family. In fact, my son leans towards Mormonism and my daughter wants to be Catholic. So you see, our family knows what the meaning of relgious tolerance is. So what if all of us follow a different spiritual path. We're all going to get to our God and we will be together in the end.
I also follow the Angels and I follow my heart. My heart holds many spiritual things and my soul knows the path to follow. My Angels help guide me to where I need to be. I can't go wrong in life when I have my heart, my soul, my soulmate, and my Angels to guide me.
I hope I haven't offended too many of you. These are only my opinions and surely not the gospel truth. One day I will find out if what I believe is the truth or not. But right now, I try to be the best person I can be inside and to follow my heart. It doesn't matter that I'm not of one particular faith. I am a blend of all faiths. I grew up Mormon, joined many churches, including the Catholic church, the Pentecostal church, the Baptist, the Lutheran, the Assembly Of God, and also have dealt with the Native American ways. In fact, my great-great-great-great-grandfather was Quanah Parker. So you see, I've taken all I've learned and tucked it away, and am doing all I can to be the best person I can be...where it counts. In my heart.
